Sometimes car accidents can get so out of control, innocent bystanders can be threatened, as well. That is exactly what happened in Lexington on August 16, 2020.

A white Ford pickup truck was heading toward Columbia when there was a collision between vehicles. The truck headed off the road toward Frank’s Car Wash on Columbia Ave. in Lexington. 

 

Employees at Frank’s Car Wash routinely stand out in the parking lot as they finish detailing cars they have just washed. Thankfully, the truck didn’t hit any people or customers’ cars but it did hit a utility pole. 

 

Lexington police had to close several lanes of traffic while Lexington County EMS helped the truck’s driver.

 

The utility pole was cracked and there was concern it may fall onto Columbia Avenue, creating even more havoc.
