One plus side to the quarantine this spring has been that traffic volume has been down dramatically across South Carolina. Motor vehicle accidents have been greatly reduced and fatalities have also been significantly lower than usual.
Sadly, fatalities have not been completely eradicated. There is tragic news from Eastover recently.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts is releasing the name of the person who died on Friday, April 24, 2020, after being involved in a motor vehicle collision. The incident occurred just before 5:30 P.M. on the 1100 block of Garners Ferry Road, Eastover, S.C. 29044. The vehicle flipped as the victim lost control leaving the highway ejecting the occupant before striking a tree.
Bridget Francis, date of birth 02/28/1980 of Brown Street, Sumter S.C. 29150 was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate this incident.
